The One Room Challenge

Hey, you guys! Today’s topic is The One Room Challenge! I have been selected to be a guest participant. This will be my first time, but hopefully not the last.  If you are not familiar with the (ORC), it’s an online challenge sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens where featured design bloggers and a few hand selected participants complete a room makeover in 6 weeks while documenting their progress on their blog and/or social handle. You can see the other spaces here . For the makeover challenge, I am tackling my laundry room.  In today’s post, I am sharing my progress for weeks one and two. Here are some pictures during the process.

I chose this room because it is the smallest of the several projects I have in progress, and I thought it would be a fairly easy project to tackle. So far, I’ve upgraded the flooring from 5mm to 8mm luxury vinyl from (Duchateau), built shelving in the small closet for better storage and organization, installed wallpaper, replaced the lighting fixture, and added a wall to create a mudroom. What started off as a seemingly easy project is starting to feeling like I bit off more than I can chew (lol), but I will continue to push through. Here’s a quick inspiration collage that’s keeping me motivated.

The washer and dryer are new from Samsung via (The Home Depot). The wallpaper is from (Wallpop); the light fixture is from (Lamps Plus buy was of (Amazon), and all trim/plywood is from (The Home Depot).

I hate doing laundry and I know styling this room isn’t going to change that. What I can say is that I’m excited to see the end result and I hope you guys are interested too. Until next time….
